Ever since I played my Les Paul through one a couple years back I'd never forgot how great that amp sounds. PS: I missed your post about your playing the LPTT when I just wrote the above text. The recent Fender LPTT is the one I played through.but I believe I'd go for the Victoria if I had a choice, as the build quality of the Vic is impeccable! Not to mention, it's built more like the original 1950s version, whereas the Fender had to adhere to current UL standards and regulations.Įither way, the LPTT is an absolute killer rig! Still, you might want to try one first before you take the plunge.just to make sure it's what you're looking for. The low-pwr tweed twin is an awesome amp! I'd be extremely surprised if you didn't absolutely love it! I played through one awhile back with all knobs at the noon mark and the amp was just killing! The more you turn up the volume, the better it gets! You simply cannot go wrong with that amp. 40 watts and the amp broke up very nicely at a comfortable 4 - 5 on the volume. I know it has the webers and I will problably be tempted to switch out the speakers, but man was it nice. You can't beat the fat lead tones singing through 2 x12's. Man that low powered tweed twin is just so fat sounding. I now have that sound in my head so the 5e7 is going out the door with a few other things and I hope to buy the Tweed twin soon. Today I went over to Cosmo's and tried a 57 Tweed twin and its all over. When it came time to upgrade the speakers in the bandmaster I forgone the Weber 10A125s and went with a speaker closer to the vintage 30 sound. I had a deluxe with the weber 12a125 alnicos and replace the speaker with a Vintage 30 and found the sound better suited my needs. I hope to rerecord it soon but with two little ones in the house it's hard to find the time. ![]() I listened to the playback and the camera was definatley too close. With other guitars, strats and tele's I will usually run it at 6 - 6.5.
